Regional History, Biography, Fine & Decorative Arts, and Historical Reference Works

Publishing regional history, fine & decorative art, photography, & genealogical reference works
The Connecticut Press is a specialty publisher of fine and decorative art, photography, American history, and historical and genealogical reference works. Many of its titles originate in the collections of non-profit institutions or through scholars and educators wishing to avoid dedicating limited staff and/or financial resources to publishing.

As a strategic partner, The Connecticut Press oversees all aspects of prepress, publishing, marketing, and distribution of selected titles by individual authors or by non-profit partners. In return for simple access to their holdings, participating organizations can benefit from new revenue streams, enhanced institutional recognition, and special discounts for their members on books and ebooks.

The Connecticut Press also serves as an aggregator in bringing together institutions and publishing professionals assigned to each pro
ject based on their respective strengths and expertise. What provides The Connecticut Press with a distinct competitive advantage is based on several factors:

  1. Keen understanding of the non-profit environment.
  2. Expertise in leveraging projects with leading experts and appropriate print technologies and marketing strategies.
  3. Commitment to quality and our participating authors and institutions as a premier provider of publications, portfolios, and prints to both specialized and general audiences.
  4. The company’s virtual nature allows it to act quickly with low overhead in responding to market trends and needs.
